Happy World Storytelling Day!
I’ve always loved stories, but somehow am only learning about the week-long holiday celebrating them! From the official website, here’s the holiday in a nutshell (visit the website for more):
The idea is to have as many people as possible tell and listen to stories in as many languages and at as many places as possible.
When I was a kid I told a lot of stories–making them up as I went along. Sort of like now, only now I write them down and agonize over every word. I’m hoping World Storytelling Day will help me loosen up and let my stories flow more (at least until it’s time to edit :)).
I’ll be at the day job (which, unfortunately, does not involve telling or listening to stories) but will spend my breaks searching for stories to listen to. Maybe even some that fit this year’s theme of “Wise Fools”. I’ve also requested to join the official Facebook group. If you’re interested, it’s here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/7117926965/
