Hola Snippetteers!
I hope you’ve all been well & happy. I’ve been restless lately, but my constant fidgeting & fussing with details hasn’t gotten much done. Here’s hoping that changes sometime soon. *fingers crossed*
Today I’m snippetting from a story I shared in January, the one with the musical half-marathaon. This will be my first fiction written specifically to go indie, which is cool because I can share as much as I like. I’m hoping to release it as part of a bundle later this year.
More on that later. For now, here are six more sentences from the WIP I’m calling “The one with the marathon” or AF (which replaced the awful title I didn’t share last time ;)). You can find the first snippet here. The usual warning to squint applies because this hasn’t been edited.
I’d trained and psyched myself up for weeks—promotional opportunity aside. I casually scoped all the runners, not actually looking for anyone, just people-watching. I snickered at myself because secretly I hoped to hook up with one of the men blowing past me, to have their slender, muscled bodies pressed against mine, their lung capacity put to good use—
I almost swallowed my tongue when a tall, striking man passed me. His arm brushed against mine and even though skin didn’t touch skin—he wore a long sleeved shirt, no doubt a technologically advanced fiber meant to wick the sweat away from his delectable skin and force it out into the atmosphere, probably as it gave him a massage and helped combat climate change—I felt an electric shock at the contact. It actually crackled.
Thanks for reading!

Ooh, you could almost feel his hair stand on end then. I’m going to enjoy reading this when it’s finished.

Ha! Love the thought process! (And the shirt helping to fight climate change was a fun touch.)

Oh, so “Musical half-marathon” is running related? In my head it was some lengthy play-off between musicians, which doesn’t make sense I guess 😀

I kind of like the sound of that, Nell! But, i like music WAY better than running. 😀
Thanks for visiting! ❤
