LGBTQIA+ fiction with happy endings

A half snippet…

notes-723339_1920Hola Snippetteers!

I’ve been stuck in my apartment for the past three days and have gotten a lot done in that time—read through ARCs for The Visionary and a couple of books by other people, sent out queries for my upmarket contemporary, and wrote 10K words on a new story. (I also got reacquainted with Netflix, but that’s not exactly relevant ;)).

Today I’m snippetting from that new story. This will be my first fiction written specifically to go indie, and should be hitting the Zon sometime in late spring/early summer.

More on that later. For now, here are the first six sentences of the WIP I’m calling “The one with the marathon” or TLH (which stands for a pretty awful title I hope to replace *fingers crossed*). The usual warning to squint applies.

The day of the half-marathon dawned clear, with a promised high of seventy. The race wasn’t officially part of the “Rock & Roll Marathon” schedule, but apparently Portland didn’t need sanctioning from anyone to throw a half-marathon based on music and beer.

Shit. I really have to do this.

My car was all packed with bottled water and promotional materials, and my “running clothes” hung over the desk chair, mocking me from across the bedroom. They seemed to be laughing at me already.

Thanks for reading!

About Charley Descoteaux

I write LGBTQ+ Erotic Romance because watching two (or more!) people figure out how to be happy makes me happy too. Every one of them deserves a beautiful love story, and as long as they keep telling them to me, I’ll keep writing them down. It's the only way I've found to convince them to let me sleep.

Thanks, Louise! I haven’t done any running for a long time, so I empathize with this guy. 😀

My running clothes laugh at me, too…although they’ll be too choked with dust before long to be able to continue. 🙂

“apparently Portland didn’t need sanctioning from anyone to throw a half-marathon based on music and beer.” Hahahaha! That sounds like something my city would do. Um…actually, they might have, now I think of it.

Such unsupportive threads! They should show more respect for the body that’s about to show them off! 😉

Hey I’d like a marathon based on music and beer (well I’d cheer people on at any rate). This was fun. Also glad the snow was good for something.

The actual “Rock & Roll Marathon” came to Portland a few times but I missed them all. It would be fun to go from one stage to the next over a few hours–but i wouldn’t be running. 😉

Love the humor in this. I’d be with Jana, cheering people on from the sidelines.

How intriguing. Love the idea of the Rock and Roll Marathon but I will definitely be on the sidelines cheering

A marathon based on music and beer is something I could go for. Well, the music and beer at least. 🙂
